Wedding Ceremonies

Sand Ceremony

A ceremony sand, also known as a unity sand ceremony, is a symbolic ritual where two people pour sand from separate vessels into a single vessel. The joined vessel represents the marriage of the couple's hopes, dreams, and values. The ceremony can be performed as part of a larger wedding or as a stand-alone ritual.

Unity Shot Ceremony

A unity shot involves the spouses-to-be enjoying a shot glass of their favorite beverage together as part of the wedding ceremony. It’s analogous to a couple enjoying a shared glass of champagne at the reception, except it’s part of the marriage ceremony.

Ring Ceremony

The ring ceremony is for couples who have many people in the family that may want to pray over their marriage. This custom will allow everyone to get a chance to silently or vocally pray as the wedding bands are passed around to the bridal party, the wedding guests, and the groom's party. The couple may also want a ring ceremony for the good prayers of everyone in attendance to bless their marriage.

Candle Ceremony

A candle ceremony unites the bride and groom with their covenant marriage. Three candles are displayed at the beginning of the ceremony – the first candle represents one partner, the second represents the other partner, and the last one (in the middle) represents their marriage. Including a candle lighting adds a wonderful layer of meaning to a wedding ceremony.

Humanist Ceremony

A humanist wedding ceremony is best for couples who believe more in the traditions of human nature than the mandates of a set religion. While some humanists are atheists, others are agnostic, and still others follow other spiritual traditions.

Handfasting Ceremony

Handfasting is the ancient practice of binding a couple’s hands ceremonially, usually with a rope or cord. Ever wonder where the phrase “tying the knot” originates from? You guessed it – handfasting!

Salt Ceremony

Couples that are planning to wed, renew their vows, or commemorate their wedding anniversary may want to incorporate a salt ceremony into the proceedings. A salt ceremony involves a symbolic blending of grains of salt into a single vessel representing the union. The salt ceremony has roots in the Old Testament of the Bible where separate salt grains are transferred into one large vessel.

“Love speaks in quiet moments, shared glances, and promises made with full hearts. Let’s capture that in your ceremony.”

Vow Renewals & Unique Ceremonies

  • Perfect for milestone anniversaries or recommitment moments.

  • For couples who want to celebrate their love and commitment without the legal aspect of marriage.

  • Short, sweet, and personal — often just the couple and a witness or two. Great for weekday or destination events.

  • Small, intimate weddings with 10–20 guests — more structure than an elopement, but less production than a full wedding.

  • Perfect for blended families (with children).

  • Symbolic acts like sand blending, handfasting, or unity candles.

  • A non-vow-renewal option where a couple celebrates a milestone (10, 25, 50 years) with a ceremonial reflection, toast, or re-reading of original vows.

  • Perfect for people moving into a new home, starting a new business, or closing a chapter. These are very niche but offer a meaningful experience.

  • Heartfelt, personal tributes for the loss of a pet — a thoughtful, often overlooked niche.

  • Holiday-Themed Elopements (Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, Halloween, etc.). LGBTQ+ Commitment Ceremonies
